Between the beginning of September and the end of November 2019, I completed an internship at the Embassy of Luxembourg in Tokyo. Through this internship, I wanted to gain a better insight into the professional and interpersonal skills which I may learn through an international experience. Japan has always had a special place in my heart and the opportunity of learning more about its culture, traditions and politics was something which I wanted to seize through this experience.
My internship lasted almost three months and it was a truly enriching experience. My Bachelor and Master courses do not foresee a mandatory internship as part of my degree, however I applied to this internship on my own initiative because I wanted to gain experience living and working in Japan. My main responsibilities included researching a wide array of topics and I also had the opportunity to participate in conferences and events, which was a great way to engage in conversation with foreigners in Japan and with Japanese people interested in Europe.
Furthermore, the lovely people at the Luxembourg Information Exchange Forum (LIEF) made an interview with me where you can read, amongst others, about my comparative culinary analysis between the Hungarian Schnitzel and the Japanese tonkatsu!
